Week 5 starts the “bye” portion of the NFL season.
With four teams idle, there are only 14 games on the Week 5 docket. But there’s at least one potential playoff preview among that collection of game, which a massive national-TV audience will be privy to.
Here’s a look at the Week 5 NFL odds.
NFL Week 5 Odds & Betting Lines
All NFL betting odds cited below are current as of 11 a.m. ET on Monday, Oct. 2, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Chicago Bears @ Washington Commanders
Thursday, Oct. 5, 8:15 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Bears (+225) @ Commanders (-278)
- Spread: Bears +6.5 (-110) @ Commanders -6.5 (-110)
- Over/Under: Over 44.5 (-112) / Under 44.5 (-108)
The Commanders hung tough against the Eagles on Sunday and have been scrappy in their 2-2 start. They should be able to get back above .500 against the reeling Bears, who blew a 21-point second-half lead against the Broncos in Week 4.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Buffalo Bills
Sunday, Oct. 8, 9:30 a.m. ET
- Moneyline: Jaguars (+200) @ Bills (-245)
- Spread: Jaguars +5.5 (-108) @ Bills -5.5 (-112)
- Over/Under: Over 48 (-108) / Under 48 (-111)
Buffalo has won three straight by an average margin of 30 points, including its highly impressive 48-20 win over the previously-unbeaten Dolphins on Sunday. We’ll see if its dominant offense carries over across the pond and against Jacksonville, who is 2-2 and tied for first in the AFC South.
Carolina Panthers @ Detroit Lions
Sunday, Oct. 8, 1 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Panthers (+300) @ Lions (-380)
- Spread: Panthers +8 (-110) @ Lions -8 (-110)
- Over/Under: Over 43.5 (-112) / Under 43.5 (-108)
This is a battle of two cats going in opposite directions. The Lions scored a statement road win over the Packers on Thursday night, while Carolina is 0-4 and doesn’t have a first-round pick in 2024.
Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts
Sunday, Oct. 8, 1 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Titans (+100) @ Colts (-120)
- Spread: Titans +1 (-108) @ Colts -1 (-112)
- Over/Under: Over 42.5 (-108) / Under 42.5 (-112)
The winner of this game will emerge with at least a tie for first place in the AFC South. Tennessee is 0-2 on the road but finally unleashed Derrick Henry in its upset win over the Bengals.
New Orleans Saints @ New England Patriots
Sunday, Oct. 8, 1 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Saints (+100) @ Patriots (-120)
- Spread: Saints +1.5 (-112) @ Patriots -1.5 (-108)
- Over/Under: Over 39 (-110) / Under 39 (-110)
The winner may be the first team to score 20 points, since each side has shown a solid defense and mediocre offense. Can Mac Jones protect the ball? If he doesn’t, he could get benched.
Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Sunday, Oct. 8, 1 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Ravens (-185) @ Steelers (+154)
- Spread: Ravens -3.5 (-110) @ Steelers +3.5 (-110)
- Over/Under: Over 40.5 (-110) / Under 40.5 (-110)
You throw out the record books when these teams face each other. But the 3-1 Ravens have looked far superior to the 2-2 Steelers, especially on offense.
New York Giants @ Miami Dolphins
Sunday, Oct. 8, 1 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Giants (+340) @ Dolphins (-440)
- Spread: Giants +9.5 (-110) @ Dolphins -9.5 (-110)
- Over/Under: Over 49.5 (-110) / Under 49.5 (-110)
The Dolphins are smarting after their four-touchdown loss in Western New York sent them to 3-1. Miami should rebound against the Giants, who have not been able to keep up in games against the NFL’s elite this season.
Houston Texans @ Atlanta Falcons
Sunday, Oct. 8, 1 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Texans (+100) @ Falcons (-120)
- Spread: Texans +1.5 (-110) @ Falcons -1.5 (-110)
- Over/Under: Over 41 (-110) / Under 41 (-110)
The winning club will be 3-2 and could be in first place in its division. The Falcons have dropped two straight, and the Texans have won two in a row. Can Atlanta find success again at home?
Philadelphia Eagles @ Los Angeles Rams
Sunday, Oct. 8, 4:05 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Eagles (-218) @ Rams (+180)
- Spread: Eagles -5 (-110) @ Rams +5 (-110)
- Over/Under: Over 48 (-110) / Under 48 (-110)
The Eagles are 4-0 despite another closer-than-expected win Sunday over the Commanders. The Rams are better than expected, stealing an OT win in Indy on Sunday.
This game should be fun, especially given the likely split crowd at SoFi Stadium.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Arizona Cardinals
Sunday, Oct. 8, 4:05 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Bengals (-175) @ Cardinals (+145)
- Spread: Bengals -3.5 (-112) @ Cardinals +3.5 (-112)
- Over/Under: Over 48 (-110) / Under 48 (-110)
These teams have the same record, which is stunning given the preseason expectations for each. Cincinnati should watch itself, especially since the Cardinals already upset the Cowboys at State Farm Stadium.
New York Jets @ Denver Broncos
Sunday, Oct. 8, 4:25 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Jets (+110) @ Broncos (-130)
- Spread: Jets +2 (-110) @ Broncos -2 (-110)
- Over/Under: Over 43 (-110) / Under 43 (-110)
Given the preseason war of words between Sean Payton and Nathaniel Hackett, this had all the makings of a must-watch game. Now, it’s just a battle of 1-3 teams in Denver.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Minnesota Vikings
Sunday, Oct. 8, 4:25 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Chiefs (-225) @ Vikings (+185)
- Spread: Chiefs -5.5 (-110) @ Vikings +5.5 (-110)
- Over/Under: Over 52.5 (-110) / Under 52.5 (-110)
Swifties may have tuned in to see Travis Kelce, but Kansas City’s tough ground game with Isiah Pacheco put it over the top against the Jets. The Chiefs should easily roll to 4-1 in Minnesota.
Dallas Cowboys @ San Francisco 49ers
Sunday, Oct. 8, 8:20 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Cowboys (+142) @ 49ers (-170)
- Spread: Cowboys +3.5 (-115) @ 49ers -2.5 (-105)
- Over/Under:: Over 44.5 (-110) / Under 44.5 (-110)
This could be the game of the year, especially given the exceptional defenses each team employs. The Niners have had the Cowboys’ number, eliminating them from the playoffs in consecutive years, so this would be an especially impressive victory if Dallas can pull it off.
Green Bay Packers @ Las Vegas Raiders
Monday, Oct. 9, 8:15 p.m. ET
- Moneyline: Packers (-122) @ Raiders (+102)
- Spread: Packers -1.5 (-112) @ Raiders +1.5 (-108)
- Over/Under: Over 43.5 (-110) / Under 43.5 (-110)
The Packers have 11 days to prepare for their road date in Vegas. We’ll see if Jimmy Garoppolo is over his concussion symptoms to play against Green Bay and its cheesehead-clad fans, who should take over Allegiant Stadium for this Monday night tilt.
